Steel Frame, Croydon

We delivered the structural steel package for a substantial frame project in Croydon, comprising approximately 85 tonnes of fabricated steel. Our scope included survey, detailing, connection design, fabrication and installation of the primary steel structure, alongside installation of precast concrete stairs and composite floor decking.

Prior to fabrication, a survey of the holding down bolts installed by the groundworks contractor identified that several had been set out incorrectly. As a result, column base details were revised and re-fabricated to suit the as-built positions. This early verification prevented significant delays and demonstrates why we always undertake independent checks before progressing fabrication.

Due to restricted delivery space and site access constraints, the project was delivered in four carefully sequenced phases. Fabrication and installation were programmed accordingly to align with the wider construction schedule and available lifting windows.

Through structured surveying, disciplined detailing and phased delivery planning, the steel frame was successfully installed, providing a stable and coordinated structure ready to receive follow-on trades.
